COVID-19 Mask Initiative
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Baobab Learning Center launched a local prevention campaign to help reduce the spread of the virus in rural communities. Mask use became mandatory at the Center, and BLC supported local mask production to ensure access for the wider community.
A local tailor produced reusable masks using appropriate fabric and filters. Masks were made available to community members at approximately half the cost of local pharmacies, improving affordability while generating modest income to support the Center’s operations.
This initiative combined public health education, local economic support, and practical prevention measures at a critical moment.
